Tracy E. Reed, former owner and property manager of Aurora Management, Inc., in Hudson, Ohio, was sentenced to seven years in prison on June 16, 2011, after pleading guilty to Aggravated Theft.
This criminal case, pending in Summit County, accused Reed of stealing money from 20 condominium and homeowners associations across Northeast Ohio. The total amount taken from these associations amounts to $1,036,750.59, for which Reed has been ordered to pay restitution. The hope is that once she is released from prison, she will find some sort of gainful employment that will slowly pay back the associations through the court-administered restitution program.
Reed pled guilty to Aggravated Theft on April 19, 2011. Reed stole funds from these 20 associations from January of 2004 through December of 2010. She stole varying amounts from each association, ranging from $6,300 to over $188,000.
Reed will be spending her sentence at the Ohio State Reformatory for Women in Marysville, Ohio. She will also be required to be supervised by the Adult Parole Authority for a period of three years following her release from prison.
