In 2007, Steven M. Ott was certified by the Ohio State Bar Association as a Residential Real Estate Specialist and now holds a position on the Board to create the exam for new applicants to hold the certification.
Our recent successes include:
- Successfully negotiating a short sale with a bank after a foreclosure was filed on a commercial property and obtaining funds for our client at closing.
- Facilitating a land contract between a Trustee and individual buyer, so that the trust benefited from the interest payments of the buyer.
- Representing an owner in a vacation subdivision where we successfully argued that the Association could not arbitrarily change the boundary lines of lots.
- Successfully obtaining a six-figure judgment against a loan officer who allegedly violated mortgage lending guidelines.
- Successfully argued that a Board of Revision foreclosure filed against one of our clients had to be dismissed, because the property was not abandoned, although it was a vacant lot.
- Successfully negotiated a class action lawsuit for several homeowners against a builder who allegedly failed to disclose pending county assessments.
