Ohio Condominium Law & Homeowners Association Law
Our Firm can handle all of your Community Association’s legal needs, from Association Disputes to Zoning Issues. Our rates for Association clients are highly competitive, and we pride ourselves on our policy that we do not charge for telephone calls with Board Members or Property Managers. We also do not charge an annual “retainer” or “service option” fee.
We hold free Condominium Association Seminars/Homeowners Association Seminars for the Board Members and Property Managers several times a year. Recent seminar topics include “Contracts and Contractors”, “Real Life Association Litigation and How to Avoid It”, and “Repairs & Reserve Accounts”. Bi-monthly newsletters are provided to our Community Association Board Members and Property Managers free of charge.
More recently, successes for our Community Association clients include:
- A Board of Revision case where we successfully argued that a parcel of land owned by the Association, valued at $241,000, actually had a value of $0. As a result, the Association no longer had to pay taxes on the parcel.
- A Foreclosure Complaint was filed against a non-paying member, and the Association recovered all Association fees owed for the past two years.
- A Builder was responsible for repairs to common elements of an Association, because of construction defects, specifically pertaining to foundation issues.
- A lawsuit against a Developer where we successfully argued that the developer did not have standing to file an appeal against an Association.
- A Community Association in which we successfully added another subdivision to the Master Association, so that fees were lowered for all the unit owners.
- A Housing Code violation case against a Community Association where we successfully argued that the Association did not violate certain housing codes in that particular city.
